Patriots Sign Six Draft Picks, Nine Undrafted Free Agents

The New England Patriots announced Friday that they’ve signed six draft picks including fifth-round LB Ja’Whaun Bentley, sixth-round LB Christian Sam, sixth-round WR Braxton Berrios, seventh-round QB Danny Etling, and seventh-round DB Keion Crossen and seventh-round TE Ryan Izzo.

This leaves three picks for the Patriots to still get under contract.

The Patriots also signed nine undrafted free agents to contracts including:

  9. Shane Wimann/TE/Northern Illinois

Etling, 23, was selected with the No. 219 overall pick in the seventh round by the Patriots. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a four-year, $2,564,028 contract that includes a $104,028 signing bonus.

During his college career at Purdue and LSU, Etling threw for 7,076 yards while completing 57.9 percent of his passes to go along with 43 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.
