Decker was facing long odds of making the Patriots’ 53-man roster after finding limited interest as a free agent during the offseason.

Decker, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010. He spent four years in Denver before signing a five-year, $36.25 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed with the Jets as a free agent back in 2014.

Decker was set to make base salaries of $7.25 million and $7.5 million over the remaining two years of the agreement when the Jets cut him loose last year. After one year with the Titans, Decker signed a one-year deal with the Patriots a few months ago.

For his career, Decker caught 439 passes for 5,816 yards receiving and 53 touchdowns over the course of eight seasons and 111 games.
