Possible Destinations For Trent Edwards

Jason La Canfora reports that the Buffalo Bill have decided to cut Trent Edwards after they were unable to find a team that was willing to trade for him.

Edwards was benched in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick who was able to put up thirty points against the New England Patriots during yesterday’s game.

As of right now the most obvious destinations for Trent Edwards would have to be Jacksonville and Arizona considering that they have limited depth at the quarterback position.

The Jaguars have been dealing with David Garrard‘s poor play all season and have already lost Luke McCown to a season-ending injury. The team has brought in Todd Bouman to backup Garrard but he is not considered to be a solid option at quarterback which is why they could be interested in taking a chance on Edwards.

The Arizona Cardinals have somehow managed to win two games this season despite a lack of offensive production. Derek Anderson and the teams once higher powered passing attack have been underwhelming so far and since the team decided to release Matt Leinart, rookie quarterback Max Hall is currently the Cardinals backup. Edwards seems like a worth while risk given the teams limited depth at the quarterback position.

While neither option is all that appealing, Edwards will be lucky to get another chance to prove that he can play in the NFL. In both cases Edwards would be an upgrade to the teams current options.
