Raiders & Kamerion Wimbley Still Far Apart In Negotiations

Len Pasquarelli of The Sports Exchange reports that the Oakland Raiders and OLB Kamerion Wimbley are far apart in regards to an agreement that would allow the Raiders to restructure Wimbley’s contract.

Pasquarelli puts the odds of him returning to Oakland next year at “a bit less” than 50-50.

Pro Football Talk did a great job of illustrating the Raiders currently predicament when they reported that Wimbley’s deal will guarantee him a $4.5 million of his 2012 salary as well as his $11 million salary for 2013 and another $2 million in for 2014 if he’s on the teams’ roster as of March 17th.

Who gave him this contract?

Wimbley holds all the leverage in this situation so unless he has a fondness for the Raiders or the bay area, he’ll likely be available in the coming weeks.
