Raiders Notes: Bruce Allen, GM Candidates, Daniel Carlson

Bruce Allen

  • Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the idea of the Raiders bringing current Redskins president Bruce Allen to replace Reggie McKenzie as the team’s GM does not sound like something that’s on the front burner at this point in time.

GM Candidates

  • Pelissero mentions that the Raiders will need to find someone willing to stand up to HC Jon Gruden and someone he respects enough to have a good relationship, as they work together to reshape the team’s roster in the coming years.
  • Ian Rapoport mentioned Jimmy Raye III and Mark Dominik as possibilities for the Raiders and Pelissero adds former Colts GM Chris Polian as a name worth watching.

Daniel Carlson

Raiders HC Jon Gruden said K Daniel Carlson is “the real deal” and could be a long-term solution for them:

He is the real deal,” Gruden said, via the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “He was a pretty high draft kick for a placekicker. He had his struggles in Minnesota, but he has found his rhythm here and hopefully he is a long-term solution for us.
