Raiders Place WR Henry Ruggs On COVID-19 List, Designate DE Takk McKinley To Return

The Las Vegas Raiders have placed rookie WR Henry Ruggs III on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and designated DE Takk McKinley to return from injured reserve on Tuesday, according to Field Yates

The Raiders also signed DE Vic Beasley to the active roster and added WR Marcell Ateman to the practice squad.

Ruggs, 21, was a two-year starter at Alabama. The Raiders used the No. 12 overall pick in the first round of this year’s draft on him.

Ruggs signed a four-year, $16,671,626 contract that includes a $9,684,819 signing bonus. The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Raiders to pick up for the 2024 season.

In 2020, Ruggs has appeared in 11 games for the Raiders and caught 23 passes for 414 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He has also rushed for 42 yards.

McKinley, 24, is a former first-round pick by the Falcons out of UCLA in the 2017 NFL Draft. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $10.2 million rookie contract and is set to make a base salary of $1.85 million for the 2020 season.

The Bengals claimed McKinley off of waivers from the Falcons but he failed a physical and was once again waived and later claimed by the 49ers before once again being waived with a failed physical designation.

The Raiders claimed McKinley off waivers last month.

McKinley finished last year on the injured reserve list due to a shoulder injury. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in 2021 after the Falcons declined his fifth-year option.

In 2020, McKinley has appeared in four games for the Falcons and recorded eight total tackles, one sack and one pass defense.
