Scott Bair of CBS Bay Area reports that the Raiders are placing veteran DL Justin Tuck on season-ending injured reserve Thursday with a torn right pectoral muscle.
- Last night, Ian Rapaport of NFL Media reported that the Raiders are worried Tuck may have suffered a torn pectoral muscle.
- According to Rapoport, the injury would cost Tuck to miss “several games, possibly the season.“
Tuck sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Oakland’s loss last week to the Broncos.
Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio told reporters earlier in the day the MRI on Tuck’s shoulder was “not good,” per Scott Bair.
With Tuck done for the year, second-round pick Mario Edward Jr. is expected to replace him in the starting lineup.
Tuck, 32, is in the final year of his two-year, $11 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $3.35 million for the 2015 season.
Tuck’s 2015 season concludes with him appearing in five games and recording 14 tackles, one sack, and three pass defenses for the Raiders.
