Raiders Placing Veteran DL Justin Tuck On Season-Ending I.R.

Scott Bair of CBS Bay Area reports that the Raiders are placing veteran DLย Justin Tuck on season-ending injured reserve Thursdayย with a torn right pectoral muscle.

  • Last night,ย Ian Rapaport of NFL Mediaย reported that the Raidersย are worried Tuckย may have suffered a torn pectoral muscle.
  • According to Rapoport, the injury would costย Tuck to miss “several games, possibly the season.

Tuck sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Oakland’s loss last week to the Broncos.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio told reporters earlier in the day the MRI on Tuck’s shoulder was “not good,” per Scott Bair.

With Tuck done for the year,ย second-round pick Mario Edward Jr. is expected toย replace himย in the starting lineup.

Tuck, 32, is in the finalย year of hisย two-year, $11 million contractย and stands to make a base salary ofย $3.35 million for the 2015 season.

Tuck’s 2015 season concludes with him appearing in five games and recording 14 tackles, one sack, and three pass defenses for the Raiders.
