Raiders Promote S Ras-I Dowling & LB Bojay Filimoeatu, Place S Larry Asante On I.R.

The Oakland Raiders announced a few roster moves on Saturday including promoting S Ras-I Dowling and LB Bojay Filimoeatu to their active roster and placing S Larry Asante on season-ending injured reserve.

Dowling, a former second-round pick of the Patriots, signed to the Jets practice squad in October of last year. He later signed a future/reserve contract with New York, but was later waived at the start of the regular season.

Just a week later, the Raiders signed him to their practice squad.

Dowling hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2012 season when he was playing for the Patriots.

Asante, 26, was with the Raiders during training camp, but was released before the season started.  He has spent time with the Browns, Bucs and Colts over the last four years.

Asante’s 2014 season ends with him recording 25 tackles and a forced fumble over the course of six games.
