Raiders Re-Sign DB Charles Woodson

The Oakland Raiders announced that they have re-signed veteran DB Charles Woodson to a contract extension on Monday.

Oakland GM Reggie McKenzie had said that they were interested in bringing him back for another season, so this news isn’t a major surprise.

He’s fine physically,” McKenzie said while appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio, via FOXSports.com. “It’s going to be totally up to Charles and the new coaching staff.

“I already talked to those guys about him. I would like to get him back here if he wants to play. If he’s all-in 100 percent, I want him back.

Woodson, 38, signed a one year contract worth $2.5 million with the Raiders last March and went on to have a pretty productive season.

In 2014, Woodson recorded 111 tackles, one sack, four interceptions, a fumble recovery and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 68 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
