Raiders Sign Three Draft Picks

The Oakland Raiders announced that they’ve signed seventh-round picks S Jonathan Dowling, DE Shelby Harris and CB Travis Carrie to four-year contracts.

Oakland now has half of their eight-man draft class under contract including first-round pick LB Khalil Mack.

Dowling offers great size for a safety at 6-foot-3. He played two years for Florida before ultimately transferring to Western Kentucky. Dowling totaled 135 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, nine interceptions and a staggering eight forced fumbles in just two years.

Carrie isn’t as tall as Dowling, but he has the ability to contribute as a kick-returner to go along with great speed and athleticism. In four years at Ohio, Carrie totaled 165 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks, nine interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Harris transferred from Wisconsin after the 2009 season. The Raiders added a lot of defensive linemen in free agency, which means he could be forced to compete for a roster spot on their practice squad during OTAs and training camp.
