Raiders Tried Out LB Michael Scherer

According to Howard Balzer, the Raiders recently brought in LB Michael Scherer for a tryout in recent days.

Scherer suffered a season-ending knee injury that ultimately required surgery and impacted his ability to get ready for the 2017 NFL draft. Unfortunately, Scherer tore both his ACL and MCL in October of 2016 and wound up going undrafted last year.

Scherer took part in the Chiefs’ local prospects day last April and later worked out for the Giants in August, but wasn’t signed to a contract.

During his four-year college career at Missouri, Scherer recorded 266 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, one sack, an interception, a forced fumble, two recoveries and six pass defenses over the course of 38 games.
