Raiders Worked Out 10 Players Including WR Josh Huff & S J.J. Wilcox

According to Howard Balzer, the Oakland Raiders brought in 10 free agents for workouts this week, including WR Josh Huff and S J.J. Wilcox.

The full list of tryouts for the Raiders includes:

  1. WR Rashard Davis
  2. WR Josh Huff
  3. WR Charles Johnson
  4. WR Griff Whalen
  5. P Drew Kaser
  6. S Afolabi Aguda
  7. S Tray Matthews
  8. S Stephen Roberts
  9. S J.J. Wilcox
  10. QB Alek Torgersen

Huff, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2,820,944 contract when the Eagles cut him loose last year.

The Buccaneers would later sign him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers and eventually call him towards the end of the 2016 season. Unfortunately, the Bucs cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Saints signed Huff to a futures contract during the summer only to release him a month later.

Since becoming a free agent, the Browns hosted Huff for a workout but did not sign him following the session.

In 2016, Huff appeared in 10 games and caught 16 passes for 113 yards receiving and a touchdown to go along with four rushing attempts for 15  yards. He has also totaled 324 kick return yards and a touchdown on special teams.

Wilcox, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,811,068 contract with the Cowboys before signing a two-contract with the Buccaneers worth up to $8.5 million.

The Buccaneers traded him to the Steelers at the start of the 2017 season for a 2018 sixth-round pick. Wilcox was set to make a base salary of $3.125 million for the 2018 season when the Steelers released him during the offseason.

Wilcox later signed on with the Jets this past June before being released.

He has worked out for the Redskins, Packers, and Colts since becoming a free agent, but left each meeting without a contract.

In 2018, Wilcox has appeared in five games for the Jets and recorded three tackles and no interceptions.
