Ravens Claim QB Jimmy Clausen Off Waivers From Bears

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they’ve claimed QB Jimmy Clausen off of waivers from the Bears on Tuesday.

There was talk that Clausen could join the Ravens now that they’ve lost Joe Flacco for the season to ACL and MCL injuries.

Current Ravens OC Marc Trestman previously had some success with Clausen as his quarterback in Chicago.

Clausen, 28, is a former second round pick of the Panthers back in 2010. He lasted over three years in Carolina before joining the Bears as a free agent in 2014.

Chicago signed him to a one-year, $1.125 million contract that included a $262,500 signing bonus back in March. Clausen will make a base salary of $745,000 for the 2015 season.

This season, Clausen has appeared in two games and thrown for 184 yards while completing 57.5 percent of his passes to go along with no touchdowns and an interception.
