Ravens Considering Veteran OT Austin Howard

According to Mike Preston the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens “looking” at veteran OT Austin Howard after he was released by the Raiders earlier in the day.

  • Jezz Zrebiec points out that Howard is still recovering from surgery he underwent back in January to repair torn labrum/rotator cuff in his shoulder.

Howard, 30, originally signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent back in 2010. He had a brief stint with the Ravens before he was signed to the Jets’ active roster in 2011.

After three years in New York, Howard signed a five-year, $30 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed with the Raiders and was set to make a base salary of $4.9 million for the 2017 season when he was released.

In 2016, Howard appeared in 11 games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 52 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
