Ravens Expected To Give QB Joe Flacco More Control Of Their Offense

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that Raven QB Joe Flacco is poised to have more control over team’s offense this season.

Flacco, who is entering his fifth year in the NFL, has been working a lot lately with the no-huddle offense in their last two preseason games against the Falcons and Lions. The key to all of this will depend on how much freedom offensive coordinator Cam Cameron’s is willing to give Flacco at the line of scrimmage.

During the championship game, Flacco looked like a difference-maker, but the Ravens are hoping that he can continue building on that performance this season. It’s somewhat of a calculated risk on their part, considering that Flacco is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Should he put big numbers in 2012, there’s a chance that he could increase his overall asking price, but you could also make the case that the Ravens want to see how he handles more responsibility before committing a huge contract to him.
