Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Tests Positive For COVID-19

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Ravens QB Lamar Jackson tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

The Ravens are dealing with a serious outbreak this week after a coach failed to report symptoms or follow league protocols.

Baltimore has already placed eight players on the COVID-19 list this week and Jackson is likely to join them tomorrow.

It’s worth mentioning that Ravens third-string QB Trace McSorley is on the COVID-19 list already, so Robert Griffin III would be in line to start with Tyler Huntley as a potential call up from the practice squad.

The NFL made the decision to move the Ravens-Steelers game to Sunday, but at this point, it’s fair to wonder if it will even be played.

Jackson, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2018. He’s in the third year of his four-year, $9,471,652 contract that included a $5,968,472 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Ravens to pick up on Jackson in 2021.

In 2020, Jackson has appeared in 10 games for the Ravens and completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 1,948 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions to go along with 575 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
