Ravens Waive LB Jake Ryan

The Baltimore Ravens announced Thursday that they’ve waived LB Jake Ryan, who was signed before this year’s draft.

The Ravens later drafted first-round LB Patrick Queen and third-round LB Malik Harrison, so it appears as though Ryan was a contingency plan for Baltimore.

Ryan, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2015. He was placed on injured reserve in August of 2018 with a torn ACL and missed the entire season as he recovered.

Ryan signed a contract with Jacksonville last March as an unrestricted free agent. He started the season on the non-football injury list and played in only two games for Jacksonville this season, recording no stats.

Jacksonville declined Ryan’s option this offseason and he later signed on with the Ravens.

In 2017, Ryan appeared in 15 games for the Packers and recorded 81 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and a recovery.
