Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Ravens worked out former Jets OLB Jason Babin in recent days.
- Yates adds that the Ravens also worked out OLB Shaun Phillips.
Baltimore has an obvious need at edge rusher following the loss of Terrell Suggs to season-ending Achilles injury.
Babin, 34, signed a two-year, $3.25 million contract with the Jets last July and hid his option picked up back in February. However, he wound up being among the team’s final roster cuts from a few weeks ago.
In 2014, Babin recorded 26 tackles and two sacks over the course of 16 games. Pro Football Focus has Babin rated as the No. 9 outside linebacker in 3-4 defense out of 46 qualifying players.
