Redskins Activate C Kory Lichtensteiger From IR, Waive C Brian de la Puente

The Washington Redskins announced that they’ve activated C Kory Lichtensteiger from short-term injured reserve and waived C Brian de la Puente.

  • Redskins placed DB Kyshoen Jarrett on season-ending injured reserve.
  • Redskins signed CB Al Louis-Jean to their practice squad.
  • Redskins released LB Derrick Mathews from their practice squad.

Lichtensteiger, 30, is in third year of his  five-year, $17.5 million contract that included a $2.75 million signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $3.5 million (2015), and $3.25 million (2016-2017) over the remainder of the contract.

In 2015, Lichtensteiger has appeared in five games for Washington.

De La Puente, 30, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2008. He’s since played for several teams including the Chiefs, Seahawks, Panthers, Saints and most recently for the Bears.

Unfortunately for De La Puente, he was placed on season-ending injured reserve close to a year ago and didn’t generate much interest in free agency before signing on with the Redskins mid-season.

This season, De La Puente has appeared in six games for the Redskins.
