Redskins Have No Plans To Pursue Trade For Josh Rosen

Dianna Russini reports that the Redskins do not have any plans to pursue a trade for Cardinals QB Josh Rosen, despite rumors from the past few weeks that they were a team worth watching for the former first-round pick.

According to Russini, the Cardinals may instead keep Rosen on their roster and look to trade him later on in the summer if they end up selecting Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall on Thursday.

Instead, Russini reports that the Redskins are looking to draft a quarterback with Dwayne Haskins being their main target.

Yesterday, Ian Rapoport reported that the Cardinals still haven’t made any calls to teams in obvious need of a quarterback about a potential trade for Rosen. Rapoport mentions that he’s spoken with several GMs from other teams who have said they haven’t heard from the Cardinals.

As of now, Arizona has yet to inform Murray or Rosen of their draft plans. Rapoport says that the Cardinals’ brass plans to meet and finalize their plans for the No. 1 overall pick in the near future.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals opened veteran minicamp on Tuesday and Rosen was in attendance for these sessions.

Rosen, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $17,664,284 contract that includes an $10,926,792 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Cardinals to pick up in 2021.

In 2018, Rosen appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Rosen as the news is available.
