Redskins HC Jay Gruden “Very Concerned” About Rookie WR Josh Doctson’s Achilles

Redskins HC Jay Gruden told reporters on Wednesday that he’s “very concerned” about first-round WR Josh Doctson’s Achilles injury, per John Keim.

“We’re not trying to rush him. We’re just trying to see how he’s doing every day.” Gruden said of Doctson, per Master Tesfatsion.

According to Gruden, tests haven’t shown any further damage and this will ultimately come down to “pain management” for Doctson.

The plan, for now, is to have Doctson to take it easy again this week . tests haven’t shown any further damage. Gruden said it’s about dealing with pain management.

Doctson, 23, was taken with the No. 22 overall pick, which was a bit of a surprise pick for Washington. He signed a four-year, $10.049 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

This season, Doctson has appeared in two games for the Redskins and caught two passes for 66 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
