Redskins Have Maintained Contact With RB Pierre Thomas

According to John Keim of ESPN, the Redskins have maintained contact with free agent RB Pierre Thomas. Although, Keim isn’t sure to what degree.

Even if the Redskins were to bring him in to help their running back situation, Keim doesn’t consider Thomas to be a full-time answer.

Thomas, 31, spent eight years with the New Orleans Saints. The 49ers signed him to a contract over a month ago, but his time in San Francisco was short-lived, as he was cut just a few days later to make room for RB Travaris Cadet.

The Redskins later signed Thomas to a contract towards the end of the year and he finished out the season in Washington.

The free agent market has been slow-moving for Thomas, as there hasn’t been a lot of reported interest in him.

In 2015,  Thomas appeared in five games and ran for 64 yards on 15 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 84 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
