Redskins Place Rookie LB Martrell Spaight On I.R. To Make Room For CB Chris Culliver

The Washington Redskins have placed LB Martrell Spaight on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday to make room for CB Chris Culliver, per Brian McNally.

Culliver was among the players reinstated from suspension for violating NFL personal conduct policy on Tuesday.

Spaight, 22, was taken in the fifth round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2,517,948 rookie contract that included $237,948 fully guaranteed with Washington.

Spaight stands to make base salaries of $435,000 (2015), $525,000 (2016), $615,000 (2017), and $705,000 (2018) over the remainder of the agreement.

Culliver, 27, signed a four-year, $32 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed with the Redskins as a free agent back in March. He stands to make a base salary of $3 million for the 2015 season.

During Week 1’s game against the Dolphins, Culliver recorded a single tackle while playing a total of 57 snaps.
