The Washington Redskins announced that signing of veteran CB Will Blackmon on Tuesday.
In order to make room for their new addition, the Redskins wound up placing S Duke Ihenacho on season-ending injured reserve.
Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reported yesterday that Washington was hosting Blackmon for a visit today, so it appears as though everything went well during the tryout.
Ihenacho suffered a fractured wrist during Sunday’s game and was expected to be sidelined 6-8 weeks.
Blackmon, 30, signed on with the Seahawks as a free agent back in March. However, he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts a little over a week ago.
In 2014, Blackmon appeared in eight games and recorded 30 tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble during the 2014 season. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 85 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
Ihenacho, 26, re-signed with the Redskins on a one-year exclusive rights deal worth $660,000 back in March. He’ll be a restricted free agent next year.
During Sunday’s game, Ihenacho recorded three tackles for Washington.
