Report: 49ers Could Trade Defensive Players To Create Roster Space

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the San Francisco 49ers will need to create some roster space in the coming weeks as players like OLB Aldon Smith, DT Glenn Dorsey, LB NaVorro Bowman and RB Marcus Lattimore are ready to return.

With this in mind, Schefter mentions that the 49ers could be interested in trading a defensive player or two on the back end of their roster if they can get a late-round pick in return.

San Francisco currently does not have the necessary room on their roster to add the returning players, so they could be a team to keep an eye on in the coming days.

Schefter doesn’t offer any ideas as to who the 49ers could make available for trade, but we’ll have updates as the news is available.
