Report: 49ers Trade LB Parys Haralson To The Saints

Update:

Cam Inman reports that the 49ers are in fact sending LB Parys Haralson to the New Orleans Saints.

  • Matt Barrows reports that the 49ers will receive a conditional seventh-round pick for Haralson.
  • Barrows adds that the condition is based on whether Haralson is able to make their final roster.
  • Brian McIntyre notes that the 49ers will save $1.3 million in both cash and cap space after this trade.

Haralson, suffered a torn triceps last year, which cost him the entire 2013 season. San Francisco has Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks in place at outside linebacker, so they would have been forced to make a tough roster move before tomorrow’s cut-down.

The Saints lost Vistor Butler and Will Smith for the season, so it makes sense that they would look to add a serviceable pass-rusher.

Matt Maiocco is “hearing” that New Orleans could be where LB Parys Haralson is headed.

Parys Haralson has reportedly said his good byes to the 49er players, per Cam Inman.

Matt Maiocco of the CSN Bay Area reported earlier in the day that San Francisco was making calls around the league regarding Haralson.
