Report: At Least Seven Teams Interested In Free Agent RB C.J. Spiller

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that free agent RB C.J. Spiller has at least seven teams interested in him heading into the legal tampering period that begins tomorrow.

According to Getlin, this group consists of: the Jets, Patriots, Dolphins, Cardinals, 49ers, Redskins and Lions.

On Tuesday, the Bills called and thanked Spiller for his service in Buffalo and told him that they had acquired LeSean McCoy in a trade with the Eagles.

“I hoped that I could return (to Buffalo),” Spiller said NFL Total Access. “Very few guys get to play their whole career at one team, but unfortunately that doesn’t happen in this business and I found out today it doesn’t happen in this business.”

The one team that stands out among the group is the Jets, seeing as there has been a lot of buzz that Spiller could sign with them now that they’ve hired former Bills HC Chan Gailey as their new offensive coordinator.

Spiller, 27, finished out his five-year, $25,672,087 rookie contract with the Bills that included $11,854,169 guaranteed and is now in position to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks.

In 2014, Spiller was limited to appearing in nine games and rushing for 300 yards on 78 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 19 receptions for 125 yards receiving and one touchdown.

We have Spiller currently listed as the No. 36 player in our Top 1oo Free Agents list.
