Report: Bears Sign LB D.J. Williams

Dam Pompei of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears have signed free agent LB D.J. Williams to a one-year deal.

This move comes just days after the Bears announced that they’re not re-signing LB Brian Urlacher.

Williams, 30, figures to be their replacement for Urlacher next season. He was released by the Broncos a few months ago, but there hasn’t been a lot of buzz surrounding him since free agency opened. Williams was still one of the best available options and is a former first-round pick.

He’s had some notable issues in recent years, which includes two suspensions last season. We’ll have to see if the Bears are open to drafting a linebacker as well come April.
