Report: Panthers Sixth-Round Pick RB Tyler Gaffney Out For Season

Steve Reed of the Associated Press is reporting that Panthers sixth-round pick RB Tyler Gaffney is out for the season after he suffered a torn lateral meniscus.

Gaffney was unlikely to see a lot of playing in his first year, but it’s certainly sad news to hear that he has already suffered a serious knee injury.

The Panthers are likely to enter the season with DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Kenjon Barner as their top-three backs.

At Stanford, Gaffney ran for 2,500 yards on 486 carries (5.1 YPC) and scored a total of 37 touchdowns over the course of four years.
