Report: Raiders Have Had Three Different Conversations About Trading Down

Omar Ruiz reported on Total Access that the Oakland Raiders have had three separate conversations with NFL teams about trading out of the No. 5 pick.

Oakland has long been rumored to be trying to move out of their current slot and acquire some mid-round picks in the process.

Their ability to move down could depend on who’s still on the board once they are on the clock. However, this year’s draft class is considered to be very good, and there are at least five players who could have an impact from day one.

Certainly, one of the offensive tackles should still be on the board as could Clemson WR Sammy Watkins. What would really be interesting is if Johnny Manziel is still available at No. 5 overall.

The increased buzz surround Manziel as the draft nears could work out to the Raiders advantage, especially if a team like the Vikings or Rams are as interested as some believe.

Hopefully for them, they are able to secure more for their first-round pick in 2014 than they were last year.

We have the Raiders taking Watkins in the first round of our recently updated 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
