Redskins Hiring Scott Turner As Offensive Coordinator

Update: According to Albert Breer, the Redskins are hiring former Panthers QB coach and interim OC Scott Turner to be their next offensive coordinator.

According to Tom Pelissero, the Redskins are zeroing in on former Panthers QB coach and interim OC Scott Turner to be their next offensive coordinator.

New Redskins HC Ron Rivera is quite familiar with Turner from their time together in Carolina and this meshes with a report that Washington is allowing current OC Kevin O’Connell to explore other job openings

Turner, 37, is the son of veteran coach Norv Turner. He began his NFL career as a graduate assistant at Oregon State back in 2005. He took his first NFL coaching job with the Panthers in 2011 as their offensive quality control coordinator.

From there, Turner had stints with the Browns and Vikings before he was eventually hired as the Panthers’ QBs coach in 2018. Carolina promoted him to offensive coordinator/QBs coach last year.
