Saints Re-Sign Veteran DT Tony McDaniel

The New Orleans Saints have re-signed veteran DT Tony McDaniel on Tuesday, according to his agent David Canter.

McDaniel, 32, originally signed on with the Jaguars back in 2006 as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee. After three years in Jacksonville, McDaniel was traded to the Dolphins in return for a seventh-round pick that ultimately became WR Julian Edelman.

McDaniel had brief stints with the Seahawks and Buccaneers before he signed a one-year, $1 million contract this past June. Unfortunately, New Orleans released coming out of the preseason, but he managed to sign on with the 49ers a few months later. San Francisco cut him loose after one month.

In 2017, McDaniel appeared in four games for the 49ers and recorded five tackles, no sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defense.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
