Mike Triplett from the New Orleans Times-Picayune confirms that Saints rookie WR Nick Toon has been placed on IR list with a foot injury.
Toon, the Saints 4th round pick in this year’s draft, had been struggling with a foot injury dating back to last year, but appeared to be progressing well and was saw his first game-action last Thursday against the Titans where he wound up catching two passes for 6 yards.
Toon is still viewed as a promising player for this Saints offense and the team is expected to patient with his development. For now, Toon can consider this a “red shirt” season.
