Saints Sign DE Jason Jones, TE Braedon Bowman & DT John Hughes

Nick Underhill reports that the Saints are signing DE Jason Jones, TE Braedon Bowman, and DT John Hughes to contracts on Saturday.

  • Underhill adds that the Saints have placed Devaroe Lawrence on injured reserve.

Jones, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in 2008. He spent four years in Tennessee before playing for the Seahawks and Lions.

The Dolphins signed him to a one-year, $885,000 contract with Dolphins back in May of last year but elected to waive him this past January to allow him a shot at catching on with a playoff team. However, that never happened.

In 2016, Jones appeared in 14 games for the Dolphins and recorded 36 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass defense.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
