Saints Waive WR Brandon Marshall

Field Yates reports that the Saints have waived WR Brandon Marshall on Wednesday.

Marshall was signed shortly after Dez Bryant was lost for the season, but never appeared in a game for New Orleans.

Marshall, 34, is a former fourth-round pick by the Broncos in the 2009 NFL Draft. After four years in Denver, he was traded to the Dolphins in 2010. Marshall’s time in Miami was limited to just two season before he was once again traded, this time to the Bears in return for two third-round picks.

In total, Marshall spent three seasons with the Bears, but was traded for a third time to the Jets in March of 2015. Marshall was in the final year of his contract when the Jets released him last offseason and he later signed a two-year, $12 million with the Giants.

However, the Giants released Marshall this past April and he later signed a one-year deal worth up to $2 million with the Seahawks before being waived last month. The Saints signed Marshall to a contract a week later.

In 2018, Marshall has appeared in six games for the Seahawks and caught 11 passes for 136 yards receiving and one touchdown.
