According to Howard Balzer, the New Orleans Saints brought in seven free agents for workouts this week including DEs Tank Carradine and Robert Ayers.

The full list of tryouts for the Saints includes:

  1. DE Robert Ayers
  2. DE Tank Carradine
  3. DE Will Clarke
  4. DE Ifeadi Odenigbo
  5. CB Jeremiah McKinnon
  6. CB Marcus Williams
  7. S Obi Melifonwu

Carradine, 28, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $4.948 million rookie contract when he and San Francisco agreed to a one-year contract extension before the start of the 2016 season.

Carradine made a base salary of $1.1 million in 2017 before signing on with the Raiders back in March. Oakland decided to move on from Carradine after he requested his release.

The Lions and Patriots recently brought him in for a workout but he left both meetings without a deal.

In 2018, Carradine has appeared in one game for the Raiders and recorded one tackle and no sacks.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Ayers, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2009. He spent five seasons in Denver before signing on with the Giants in 2014. After two years in New York, the Buccaneers signed Ayers to a three-year, $19.5 million contract that includes $10.5 million guaranteed.

Ayers was set to make a base salary of $5 million for the 2018 season when the Buccaneers released him back in March. The Lions signed him to a contract last month but released him after one day with the team.

He recently worked out for the Falcons, Vikings, and Dolphins but left each team without reaching an agreement.

In 2017, Ayers appeared in 12 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 31 tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles for the Buccaneers. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 10 pass rusher out of 106 qualifying players.
