Seahawks CB Kalan Reed Suffers Likely Career-Ending Injury

According to Ian Rapoport, Seahawks CB Kalan Reed‘s neck injury that landed him on injured reserve is likely career-ending.

Reed’s agent, Harold Lewis, tells Rapoport that Reed experienced numbness following injuries to his third and fourth vertebrae during his final game. Doctors have told him he’s at serious risk if he plays again.

Reed, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Titans back in 2016. He was waived at the start of the 2016 and later signed to the Titans’ practice squad before being called up toward the end of the year.

Tennessee placed Reed on injured reserve during the preseason in 2018 and later waived him with an injury settlement.

The Seahawks signed Reed to their practice squad in October. Seattle re-signed Reed as an exclusive rights free agent this past offseason.

In 2017, Reed appeared in three games and recorded a pass defense.
