Seahawks DE Ziggy Ansah (Shoulder) Still Without Timetable

Seahawks’ recently signed veteran DE Ezekiel Ansah said he still does not have a timeline for his return from shoulder surgery.

You know, I’m just going to take it a day at a time. I don’t have a timeline as of right now. I’m just waiting to see what the doctor is going to say, but until then, I’m putting in the work every day to get the body right,” said Ansah, via Stacy Rost of 710AM ESPN

Last week, Adam Schefter reported that Ansah still is recovering from shoulder surgery and is expected to keep him out of training camp or longer.

League sources tell Schefter that they believe Ansah could miss “at least” the first month of this season.

Ansah, 29, was taken with the No. 5 overall pick by the Lions back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $18.595 million rookie contract before the Lions picked up his fifth-year option.

Ansah made a base salary $12.7 million for the 2017 season before the Lions used the franchise tag on him last year that cost them around $17.5 million fully guaranteed for the 2018 season.

He signed a one-year, $9 million deal with the Seahawks.

In 2018, Ansah appeared in seven games for the Lions and recorded 11 tackles and four sacks.
