Seahawks First-Round OT Germain Ifedi Out A Few Weeks With High-Ankle Sprain

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Seahawks first-round OT Germain Ifedi suffered a high-ankle sprain during Wednesday’s practice and is expected to be out a few weeks.

  • In a separate tweet, Rapoport mentions that Ifedi could be out “several weeks.”

This will likely lead to the Seahawks shuffling their offensive line around a bit while Ifedi is out.

Ifedi, 21, was taken with the No. 31 overall pick and will be an interesting player to watch develop in the coming years. The Seahawks needed to add some talent to their offensive line and Ifedi could give them some versatility, as he played both guard and right tackle at Texas A&M.

According to OverTheCap.com, Ifedi receives a four-year contract worth $8,265,110 to go along with a signing bonus of $4,210,988. The contract will include a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2019.

Ifedi spent three years at Texas A&M and was a second-team All-SEC selection last year.
