According to ESPN.com, the Seattle Seahawks will  “try” to sign him free agent WR Terrell Owens after he reportedly ran a sub-4.5 forty.

Owens was reportedly “very impressive” in his workout with the team, despite the fact that he’s currently 39-year-old. This is a really surprising turn of events for someone who looked like he was going to end up being the model of the type of superstar to not emulate.

Last night, Dave “Softy” Mahler of KJR 950 Seattle reported that free agent WR Terrell Owens will workout for the Seattle Seahawks at some point today.

This is certainly a huge surprise, considering that the Owens has drawn absolutely no interest to this point, despite the fact that he posted nearly 1000 yard season and 9 touchdowns in 2010 with the Bengals.

Mike Freeman of CBS Sports reports that “Seattle’s interest in Terrell Owens is very serious.”

Freeman cautions that this doesn’t mean that Owens will leave with an offer. Still, Seattle has been proactive in shopping for an additional receiver since they released Mike Williams a little over a week ago. Since then, they’ve signed Antonio Bryant, who was recently released, and Braylon Edwards to contracts. Both players have also drawn very little interest to this point, so maybe Plaxico Burress is next if things don’t workout with either Edwards or Owens.
