Seahawks Hosting DE Nick Perry For Visit

According to Jason La Canfora, the Seahawks are scheduled to host former Packers DE/OLB Nick Perry for a visit this week.

This is the first reported interest in Perry since the free agent market officially opened.

La Canfora mentions Perry is fully healthy for the first time in a while. There’s an obvious connection to the Seahawks in that Perry played for Pete Carroll while at USC.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Perry to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Perry, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Packers back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract before testing the open market for the first time and eventually returning to Green Bay on a five-year, $60 million contract that included an $18.5 million signing bonus.

Perry was set to make base salaries of $1.9 million and $5.2 million over the next two years when the Packers released him a few weeks ago.

In 2018, Perry has appeared in nine games for the Packers and recorded 24 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 100 overall edge defender out of 106 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
