Seahawks Hosting DT Damon Harrison, Three Other Teams Also Interested

According to Adam Schefter, the Seahawks are hosting DT Damon Harrison for a visit next week.

Damon Harrison

Schefter reports Harrison has decided to play in 2020 after all despite some initial doubts and mulling retirement. He adds the Bears, Packers and Bengals have also expressed interest in the 31-year-old veteran run stuffer.

Seattle has looked at adding some help at defensive tackle and Harrison is an established two-down player. The other three teams also have a need to improve their run defense.

Back in July, Harrison said in an interview he was taking his time and was looking to join “a winning program for the upcoming season.

Harrison, 31, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn back in 2012. He spent four years with the Jets before departing in free agency for a five-year, $46.25 million contract with the Giants.

The Giants later traded Harrison to the Lions. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $46.25 million deal when he agreed to a one-year, $11 million extension last year.

Detroit released him in February.

In 2019, Harrison appeared in 15 games for the Lions and recorded 48 tackles, two sacks and three pass defenses.

We have him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
