Report: Seahawks LT Russell Okung Likely Headed IR With Designation To Return

Update:

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Seahawks LT Russell Okung is “likely” headed to injured reserve with a designation to return.

Okung got a second opinion on his injured toe earlier in the week, so it was clear that his injury was worse than the Seahawks were hoping.

Okung is clearly their best offensive lineman, so we’ll have to see how they hold up with him in the event that he is placed on injured reserve.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Seahawks LT Russell Okung is dealing with a torn ligament in his toe and is “unlikely” to play in Week 3.

  • Mike Garafolo adds that this is the same injury that Pierre Garcon dealt with last year and it’s not going to knock Okung out for the season.

Okung looked to have suffered a sprained ankle, so this is probably good news for Seattle. After all, they’re currently 19.5 point favorites over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3, so they should  be able to hold up just fine without him.
