Seahawks OT Russell Okung Suffers Another Ankle Injury

Former first-round pick OT Russell Okung was taken off of the field during last nights game on a cart which is also cause for concern.

Since being drafted by Seattle, Okung has dealt with a number of issues relating to his ankle so the fact that something happened so soon into the 2011 is definitely worrisome.

“Russ has got an ankle sprain,” Pete Carroll confirmed last night, per Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times. “It was non-contact, you know. Just felt something kind of pop in there. X-rays were negative and all that so we’ll see what happens. He’s real disappointed.”

Carroll also mentioned that the injury relates to a high ankle sprain.

Depending on the severity of the injury, Seattle may have to bring in some additional talent but that market happens to be pretty dry as of right now. You can expect to see more Tyler Polumbus in the time being.
