Seahawks Sign HC Pete Carroll To Extension Through 2021

The Seattle Seahawks announced Monday that they’ve signed HC Pete Carroll to an extension through the 2021 season.

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Carroll’s new contract will pay him more than $11 million per year and makes him one of the highest paid coaches in the game.

“I am excited to announce that we have extended Head Coach Pete Carroll through the 2021 season,” said Jody Allen, Seahawks Chair and Trustee of the Paul G. Allen Trust. “This will continue the championship culture that we have created in Seattle.”

“So grateful to Jody and the organization,” said Carroll. “I love this team and couldn’t be more proud to represent the 12s.

Carroll will be 70 years old by the end of this contract. This new contract also ties him to GM John Schneider.

Carroll, 67, was hired as the Seahawks’ head coach back in 2010. Since taking the job, Carroll has led the team to a record of 88-54 (61.9 percent) to go along with seven playoff appearances, two trips to Super Bowls and a Championship in 2013.
