Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin May Need Sports Hernia Surgery

According to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin is scheduled to see Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia regarding potential sports hernia surgery.

Baldwin said in a radio show appearance there were more surgeries yet to come after already having shoulder and knee surgeries earlier this offseason, via Curtis Crabtree.

Clarence Hill mentions there’s word of Baldwin considering retirement.

The surgery for sports hernia could come in early April, according to Garafolo.  Baldwin strained his MCL early in the 2018 season and battled the injury throughout the year.

Baldwin, 30, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2011. He’s set to make base salaries of $8.25 million and $9.25 million over the next two years.

In 2018, Baldwin appeared in 13 games for the Seahawks and caught 50 passes for 618 yards (12.4 YPC) and five touchdowns.  Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 24 receiver out of 117 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Baldwin as the news is available.
