Steelers DL Lavon Hooks Out For Season With Achilles Injury

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Steelers DL Lavon Hooks suffered an Achilles injury in practice that will cost him the entire 2019 season.

You can expect the Steelers to place Hooks on injured reserve in the coming days.

Hooks, 27, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss back in 2015. He lasted just a few months in Green Bay before he was waived during the preseason.

Hooks later signed on with the Steelers the following year and has returned to the team on futures contracts each of the past three seasons.

During his two years at Ole Miss, Hooks recorded 27 tackles and three sacks over the course of 15 games.
