Steelers Place OT Marcus Gilbert On Injured Reserve

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they have placed OT Marcus Gilbert on the season-ending injured reserve.

Gilbert has not played since Week 6 after sustaining a knee injury, so this does not come as a surprise.

Gilbert, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Steelers back in 2011. He is currently entering the fifth year of his six-year, $30.815 million contract that included a $7.65 million signing bonus and is set to make a base salary of $4.05 million for 2018.

In 2018, Gilbert has appeared in five games for the Steelers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 34 overall offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.
