The Pittsburgh Steelers officially waived DT Roy Philon from injured reserve on Saturday with an injury settlement.
Philon, 25, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few months in Pittsburgh before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later signed to the Bears’ practiced squad.
After a short stint with the Lions, the Steelers signed him to a contract this past February before waiving him with an injury designation earlier in the week. Philon cleared waivers and ended up on their injured reserve list.
Philon has yet to appear in an NFL game.
