Terrell Suggs Returning This Weekend?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this morning that Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs could return for this weekends game against the Houston Texan. Albert Breer of NFL.com has since refuted that report.

According to Breer, a team source mentioned that they would be “shocked” if Suggs was able to return this weekend.

“Suggs’ rehab has gone as well as could be expected, but the club source said he’d be “shocked” if the All-Pro was able to play Sunday against the Houston Texans,” wrote Breer.

Schefter was reporting that league sources told him that Suggs was targeting and expecting to play against the Texans.

“Yes, that’s still the plan,” one source texted today, via Schefter.

With only six months removed from tearing his Achilles’ tendon, it would be an incredible recovery if Suggs was able to play this Sunday. It seems more likely that the Ravens would exercise caution and see how his Achilles’ responds after a week of practice, considering that the Ravens bye is in Week 8. It will be interesting to see if Suggs is able to put together some solid practices in the coming weeks, especially when you consider that they have already lost Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb for the season.
